Recent Updates to Florida’s Boating Under the Influence Law

The State of Florida is an idyllic location for year-round boating due to the warm weather and Florida sunshine. However, Florida has the highest number of boat-related accidents. Although it is unknown exactly how many boating accidents are alcohol-related, it is understandable that the crime of Boating Under the Influence is treated seriously in Florida.

The crime of boating under the influence is governed by Florida Statute ยง 327.35, which provides that a person is guilty of the offense of boating under the influence if they are operating a vessel in the state and is under the influence of alcoholic beverages or certain substances when affected to the extent the person’s normal faculties are impaired.

The second method of proving boating under the influence is establishing an unlawful blood or breath-alcohol level, which is defined under the BUI statute as a blood-alcohol level of 0.08 or more grams of alcohol per 100 milliliters of blood, or a breath-alcohol level of 0.08 grams of alcohol per 210 liters of breath.

Can My Doctor Refuse to Transfer Me to Another Doctors Care That Is Closer to My Home?

Question by : Can my doctor refuse to transfer me to another doctors care that is closer to my home?
A new substance abuse clinic just opened up in my town. It is 2 blocks from my house and the one am currently going to is 4 miles away. The doctor that runs the new clinic used to work for the other clinic and his clinic is at their previous location. Since they have moved it is not convenient for me because I don’t have a car. I was told that I would not be allowed to transfer because the doctor “stole patient information and contacted patients to come to his new clinic”. He used to work for the other clinic and when they moved he decided to open up his own clinic. If he used to treat us I don’t see how he could steal patient info since he was our doctor, but the truth is I contacted him. On the wall under patient rights and responsibilities it says “upon acceptance of another treatment program, patients have the right to a smooth transfer”. A lot of other people have been told they could not transfer either. We were told that they have to have a meeting to see how they are going to handle this and that there may be a law suit against this doctor for stealing patient information. Is any of this legal? I think we may have grounds for a class action law suit.

Drug Abuse Treatment Centers

Choosing a drug treatment center can be one of the most crucial decisions of your life. It is of vital importance that you consider a few factors before arriving at a decision.

Drug abuse is a disease that requires a doctor specializing in addiction medicine to make an accurate diagnosis and prescribe the most appropriate treatment. You must ensure that a drug abuse treatment center can offer a variety of treatment programs that meet your needs. These programs may comprise inpatient, residential, outpatient, and/or short-stay options. Then another important question arises: how much does a drug treatment center cost? The price tag for treatment is presented in many kinds of formats. You must have a clear idea of what is included, what will be added to your bill as a fee-for-service program, and what services will be covered by your health insurance.
