I just finished Elizabeth Berg’s “What we Keep” and I really liked it. I love coming-of-age fiction that follows the lives of people while they were kids or teens. Another one I loved was Martha Moody’s “Best Friends” and of course, Judy Blume’s “Summer Sisters”. I do like other genre too. I enjoyed the non-fiction novel “ComebacK” about a mother’s fight with her daughter’s drug addiction. “Mrs. Kimble” by Jennifer Haigh is another good one.
So that should give you an idea of what type of books I enjoy. I prefer to read modern novels at the beach that were written in the last 20 years or so. I don’t like books by Danielle Steele. I’m also not a big fan of mysteries (although I LOVE “The #1 Ladies Detective Agency series) or thrillers like Stephen King (although I love his movies).
If you have a suggestion or two, that would be great!!!!!

My 25 year old son is bulimic. I’ve confronted him with this and he has admitted to it but doesn’t see it as a big problem. I want to help him but don’t know what to do. He is vomiting every day – several times during the day. He tries to keep it hidden but I know he is deliberately throwing up. Is there anything I can do to help him recognize the major health problems associtated with bulimia. Please help….

Try a psychologist, and he may need to go to a support group. You might want him to read the effects of being bulimic and stuff….. it could possibly end up deadly!

I have experienced this. I just dont wanna describe those horrible days / intense experiences here. . . People who have less nurturing and emotional abuse in childhood with unmet need are prone to that. Yes, my childhood was very painful emotionally and utterly abusive mentally.
Btw, can you tell something about those placement/aspects are found in the chart of Love addict?

A friend of mine has been working on losing his “addiction” (as I call it) to marijuana. He has been smoking for a long time. Since he was 15, he is now 32. He smokes a lot. All day long. He does not smoke cigarettes so he says hes not addicted. What I think it is, is that he smokes his weed in blunts (cigar wraps). And they are made from tobacco, I believe. He is always telling me that he quit and for the next 4 days he is a complete ASS! He says its from not smoking weed, I think its the tobacco withdrawal. My question is. Is the anger coming from the cigar or the weed withdrawal?

He’s just grumpy from losing a major stress reliever. It may take a week or two, but he’ll bounce back!
