Question by : Medication Withdrawal?
I am on multiple drugs such as antidepressents, anxiety medications, pain medications, estrogren, pain pails and a muscle relaxer. I take a total of 7 meds. My memory is shot!I cannot remember yesterday! I am scared to death! What kind of physician would i see to get wheened off of some?? The antidepressents are the worst at trying to get off..Who do i need to see??? I have been passing out in my attempts to withdrawal slowly…

I’ve been through this. You didn’t say what kind and dosage. In my case, due to the dose and drug (oxycodone, 90mg/day) and used adivan to ease the symptoms. But since you’re on some kind of “anxiety” meds this will be tricky. Find a doctor in your area who treats drug withdrawals, as opposed to someone who treats strictly “drug addictions”. It sounds like you didn’t take these for recreational purposes. You don’t need to go to a 12 step program in other words and put up with all that. Put simply, Adderall has a high POTENTIAL for abuse and CAN be addictive.

When Adderall (and Adderall XR) is prescribed orally for Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (inattentive type, hyperactive type, or combined type); and/or narcolepsy, and taken properly, in the proper dosages, for the legitimate conditions, addiction is rare.    Read more...

Question by Rocky: is tramadol/apap 37.5-325mg a narcotic of any sort?
I was taking vicodin well i still am i get it prescribed all the time but found it to be hard to quit but i had a pill botlle of this prescribed a while back and was think about using it but want to make sure it has no opiates in it at all. Because opium is no joke guys its real addicting to mask away pain.

Tramadol is a non narcotic pain medication that can act similar to narcotic pain medications. This can possibly help you wean off the Vicodin.

She needs pain medication for pain, but is now hooked. Is there any other non-narcotic pain med that will provide relief?

When a person is addicted to a narcotic, they will not feel pain relief from a non narcotic medicine. if your friend is willing to talk to her medical doctor openly, the doctor can form a program to get her off of the heavy drugs and into something that is not narcotic. It’s going to take a doctor and perhaps a pain relief clinic to help your friend. Physical therapy is very important in dealing with pain.
