Drug Addition: How Christian Drug Rehab Programs Are Helpful in Treating Drug Addition

Drug addiction has become a great problem worldwide. With the number of addicts increasing by the day, organizations like the Christian drug rehab centers have come up to help people in dealing with the problem of drug addiction. The Christian drug rehabs are helping people who are under the influence of drugs by treating them, bringing them back to a normal and happy life.

Christian drug rehabs are unique because the treatment they provide is based on faith in God and inner strength that He provides. Unlike traditional drug addiction programs, they do not depend simply on medication and therapy, but primarily on the word of God. Prayer is an important element in the programs offered by them. Through prayer the recovering addicts can gain immense strength and forge a strong will to recover from addiction. Religious counseling and scripture reading sessions are also conducted through which the patients are made to realize the folly and futility of getting addicted to drugs. The patients also take part in group therapy and bring out their individual problems which they can then discuss and get resolved.

Drug Addiction Issue — Please Help?

Question by marie: Drug addiction issue — please help?
We have a family member who is addicted to street drugs. He is going to a 3 day detox (may be there now). Problem is there is no money for a “program” and no health insurance. No one has the money – nor have property to even get a second mortgage. Do you have ANY IDEAS of how you can get help without paying? He will die if he doesn’t get help. The drugs have him bad. He will take ANYTHING he can get his hands on and any possible way he can. He wants help finally. Meetings alone are not going to help him. He needs at least a 30 day program but probably in bad enough shape to really need a long term program. Do any of you have any suggestions out there? I know there are different ways to get aid. We just don’t know who can aid him. He is not a person who is close enough to me personally to be my problem or concern but I do care.
1. I do not live close to this person
2. HE DOES WANT HELP (see question)
3. We are in Florida
I went thru this with my oldest son too. This is his father – court appt. programs are only for people who have committed a felony and relating to drugs.
Yes, my son’s father – my son is 26. This is my ex-husband but I do care about the family.
