BA vs. BS in Psychology?
Question by : BA vs. BS in Psychology?
So I’m kind of between a rock and a hard place here. (I’m a Canadian student, Grade 11 or a junior in HS)
Note that either way, I am planning on being a psychologist when I’m older (mainly therapy, so I guess clinical psychology) so I am planning on going for my Ph.D. However, does a BA really weigh that much against my favour? I guess what I really want to know is if there really is a major difference between the two. Will a bachelor in science prove more useful for what I want to do? Will I have a harder time going for my master’s/Ph.D if I do decide to go for a bachelor of arts?

Question by Janet: What percentage of people have at least one disorder?
Preferrably psychological I suppose. I myself have mild asperger’s syndrome (allegedly). Seems like everybody has one these days.

“In the United States, 22 percent of U.S. adults (18 years and older) reported having a disability.2
In the United States, over 46 percent of adults over 18 experience a diagnosable mental disorder during their lifetime. Anxiety, impulse control disorders, mood disorders (for example, depression and bipolar disorder), and substance abuse are the most common.3 Other disorders may include sleep disorders, dementia, and eating disorders.”
Add that up, about 2/3 of our population will at some point admit to having either a disability or a mental disorder. (The other third will probably not admit to it.)
