EVERYBODY TELLS ME HE NEEDS TO FOCUS ON HIM AND GET BETTER AND I AGREE, BUT HE CRYS AND SAYS IF I LEAVE THEN ITS HURTING HIM AND HES DOING THIS FOR US. HE SAYS HIS RECOVERY DEPENDS ON ME BUT I HAVE BEEN TO A LOT OF NA MEETINGS AND I KNOW IT HAS TO BE HIS OWN RECOVERY FOR HIMSELF. HE IS 32 AND ALMOST DIED 3 TIMES. I DONT KNOW WHAT DO DO. I JUST WANT HIM TO GET BETTER AND LIVE HAPPY DRUG FREE BECAUSE HE REALLY IS A BEAUTIFUL PERSON WHO IS SICK. HELP!” tHIS IS HIS 3RD ATTEMPT AT REHAB AND THE MOST HE HAS BEEN CLEAN IS 1 YEAR IN 12 YEARS. I HAVE BEEN WITH HIM 6 MONTHS. WHEN I MET HIM HE WAS CLEAN AND IN SCHOOL TO BE A DRUG COUNSLER OR I WOUYLDNT HAVE DATED HIM, SO THEN I FALL IN LOVE AND FIND OUT HES RELAPSED AND BEEN USING. I ENABLED HIM BECAUSE I WAS SO SCARED HE WOULD DIE IF I DIDNT. PAST GIRLFRIENDS HAVE GIVEN UP AND LEFT HIM AND HE ALWAYS SAYS I AM THE BEST THING THAT HAS HAPPENED TO HIM AND I PROVED I WAS DIFFERENT AND THANKS ME FOR BELIEVING IN HIM. THAT MAKES ME FEEL LIKE I CANT LEAVE HIM. I LOVE THIS PERSON SO MUCH AND I HAVE HAD A LOT OF RELATIONSHIP EXPEIENCE. I WAS MARRIED AND HAVE TWO SONS, THEY ARE 7 AND 9. I CANT HAVE HIM IN MY LIFE WHILE HES SHOOTING HEROIN AND SMOKING CRACK AND DOING COKE…UGH! BUT HE REALLY IS A WONDERFUL MAN, KIND AND EVERYTHING A WOMAN WOULD WANT ,BUT HE HAS THIS SICKNESS AND THAT HIDES THAT UNFORTUNATLY. DO I STICK WITH HIM UNTYIL HE GETS OUT IN 5 DAYS AND IF HE USES THEN JUST LEAVE HIM, EVEN THOUGH IT WILL BREAK MY HEART, OR DO I BREAK UP WITH HIM NOW WHILE HE IS STILL IN THERE AND HAS TIME TO BE SAFE TO DEAL WITH THE EMOTIONAL PAIN BUT THEN MAYBE HE CAN FOCUS ON HIM IF IM OUT OF THE PICTURE. IM SO CONFUSED AND IM NOT A STUPID WOMAN. ANY ADVICE WOULD HELP.
