Question by newschicky: Has anyone ever taken Halcion or know anything about the medication?
I am having one wisdom tooth pulled sometime in the next couple of weeks. It is an upper tooth. (I am 35 years old.)The tooth is not impacted. It is broken and has decay. I will be awake during the procedure, with just novocaine to numb the area. The oral surgeon and his assistant said I will not feel pain but I will feel up to about 20 pounds of pressure. This sounds extremely scary to me. Also, he gave me a prescription for Halcion, which he wants me to take before the extraction. I am also nervous about that, as I am very senstitive to medication, but he said all it will do is relax me and that it will also relax my jaw which will make it easier and faster for him to extract the tooth. I want it to be as easy and fast as possible so I am planning on taking the Halcion before my appointment. Has anyone had any experience? I am curious about reactions to Halcion and what to expect to feel when I take it, and about the pain and/or pressure I may feel during the extraction. Thanks!    Read more...

Does one type of relapse into former addiction lead to other sins? Example, and alcoholic who starts drinking can get into sexual sin or a drug addict who goes back on crystal meth or crack or pain medication may also do sexual or criminal things to get more of that drug or they just don’t care and do things they normally do not do.

I have been dealing with a shattered kneecap and torn ligament for about 5 months now. Even though I have not asked for a higher dosage (10/325) and have made “6-Day Supplies” last for 9-10 days every time, my doctor has cut me off. (Kaiser) A month ago, he even told me he expected the pain to continue for another 4-6 months, yet here I am, with no meds……
I am in excruciating pain all the time. I can’t sleep, I can’t work.
What I would like to find is a pain management clinic run by compassionate people. At this point, I wouldn’t even mind getting mixed up with shady characters if it would help me sleep… If you know of one in my area, or even in LA, I would appreciate a heads up. Thanks..
