Poppy Tea = Mild Heroin.

It “Helps” in that it is a Pain Killer and this inhibits your urge to cough, which is why they prescribe opiate infused cough syrup if you have a bad cough/flu, but if you have Asthma, it means you are going to be dealing with Asthma for the rest of your life and if you use Poppy Tea long-term, it CAN trigger the addiction biology in your brain and can make you physically dependent if you lack the genetics for Addiction. Use it sparingly! You’re FAR FAR FAR better off getting proper medical treatment than experimenting with something that won’t do much good and has a MASSIVE POTENTIAL to fu*k up your life.

Oh, and depending on your local laws, if you are growing these poppies in your garden it is possible that they are technically illegal. “They” tend to leave you alone if you’re only growing a handful of them but if you have more than would count as “Decorative”, they could come down on you and ticket you or make you destroy them. Of course, your local law enforcement would need to know the difference between Papaver Somniferum and Papaver Orientale, but you never know who knows what.

If you are caught “milking” the pods, I’m sure that SOMEONE would see the marks and know what you’re up to… But if you just grow them for the flowers and pods or order the pods online, it’s doubtful that anyone will come down on you… Just be aware that it HAS HAPPENED and that you never know when some Government Jack Hole will realize that “Decorative Poppy Pods” means Papaver Somniferum pods.

I buy my seeds from eBay and have never had a problem. I’ve not had the chance to actually grow them yet, my neighbor killed all my flowers while they were still seedlings, but at least I know they’ll grow.

If you don’t want to spend money on Confirmed Papaver Somniferum Seeds, you can try bulk poppy seeds in the baking section of a small, preferably polish or other “Ethnic” store but you don’t know what you’ll get or if they’ve been sterilized.
