I’m writing about an individual who was oppressed, abused, ridiculed, and neglected during childhood to the point of not talking and hiding (even as a child of 2 or 3 hid in a closet to avoid the mother). This continued to some extent into teenage years. Many mistakes were made and opportunities lost even as an adult. The person is now able to join in conversations without the “tremendous” fear that was present in past years, joins in group activities, etc., but is still somewhat socially withdrawn. This person was “damaged” by another, but is this a psychiatric disorder? The person is very intelligent (IQ 150+) and has no problem conversing about common interests. One otherwise would not be aware of the problem just to observe from a distance. This is definitely not Asperger’s. What is the diagnosis?

I’ve been an avid coffee drinker for over 17 years. But recently, coffee has been making my brain feel numb pretty much throughout the working day and optional shifts. What’s wrong with me? Or is it the coffee I’m drinking that’s causing this adverse reaction?
I get most of my beverages from my workplace or the local coffee shop. One of my colleagues who is into energy drinks too has been complaining of headaches of late. Could it be stress? Too much coffee? Late night work + red bull? I wonder what the reason could be.

if you have been drinking coffee for 17 years with no problems why assume it is the cause of your sudden depression and mental slump?

Well-malls and cafes aside- my friends and I usually go out bowling (there’s the International Bowling Center “IBC” behind the October panorama in Nasr City), we also go play football or squash, usually at AlAhly, 6 October or Shooting clubs. We also go horseback riding near the pyramids.umm…oh and we sometimes plan out a day in Alexandria, just drive over there in the early morning, spend the day and return at night. That’s a lotta fun.
I guess that’s about it. oh and there are those slow nights we just don’t feel like going anywhere, we just hang out at someone’s house-usually over at Rehab city- where we make an “estimation night” (card game) out of it
