Another Question About Eating Disorders?
Question by [email protected]: Another question about eating disorders?
Why does America look at anorexia and bulemia as a medical disorder, but look at obesity with disgust? Even alcoholism and drug addiction is now viewed as a “disease”, but obesity is just the sign of a weak pig. Do eating disorders not go BOTH ways? It’s been proven time and time again that food “comforts” the brain with the release of dopamine in the same way that drug and alcohol addiction do, but still no one wants to accept obesity as actually being a physical and/or psychological disorder. Why is alcoholism a “DISEASE” but food addiction is not?

No, its just like have a beer after work. As soon as your obligations are done for the day its time to relax. ITs not like you are going home every night to drink. Also more like having a single glass of wine for dinner.

How Can I Stay Straight edge(No Alcohol, Drugs, Etc) Without Veering Off the Path?
Question by utopian_wildfire: How can I stay straight edge(No alcohol, drugs, etc) without veering off the path?
I don’t do drugs, but I drink occasionally, and when I drink, I also eat badly. I want to stay straight edge and be healthy. I actually cut out alcohol, sugar, caffeine and white flour for a month, and felt great! Then I got into some weird mindset like I wanted to have fun and went out and bought the stuff to make sangria. I am 27, so its hard to socialize without drinking, but I try. Does anyone have any tips? And please don’t post comments belittling me because of my lifestyle, or calling me a crazy christian, because I am not a christian.

Always just get water when you’re out, so instead of sipping alcohol without even thinking about it, you’ll just be drinking water. Good luck. 🙂
