Different qualifications, and it could also depend on the state you’re in. Psychologist referes to a broad range of practices outside of the clinical realm (i.e., I/O psychologists, school psychologists, etc.). A counseling psychologist tends to help people with everyday problems like family and occupational concerns. Clinical psychologists focus more on pathology.
