Internet Addiction Treatment: Is This Damaging in a Custody Battle?

Question by Shellz: Is this damaging in a custody battle?
A friend of mine is in the middle of a custody battle with her ex. He has filed for full custody of her 12 month old child, and custody of her unborn child (that is due next month). Trust me when I say this… He is a dead beat Dad, and the only reason he wants full custody is so he won’t have to pay for child support. The other day, she found a memory stick in her ex’s camera that somehow got thrown in to her pile of things he put together for her when he threw her and her daughter out. Upon opening the file, she found a couple of pics he took of his genitals. One of the things that she wanted to break up with him about was for his addiction to web sex chat lines. These couple of photos (obviously) was taken for some sort of internet porn, while she was still living in the residence with their child. Would this effect a custody battle outcome if he is trying to say that he is the better parent, and can provide a better home for the children, if this is what he does while the child is living there? What kind of wholesome family enviornment could that be? What do you think may happen if this evidence is brought to court? He is also a alcoholic, and there are others who are willing to testify to that in court.

The pictures are unlikely to have any effect. Parents are perfectly able to have sex lives without adversely affecting their children and there’s no reason to think the child would be exposed to anything obscene or harmful.
