Addiction
When there’s nothing left to hold
And I have no one left to care about,
That’s when my fingertips turn cold
And I will grab the closest route.
I will hold it in my hand
And feel the bottle’s gentle lullaby,
Until I know that I can’t stand
To let another second by.
Then I open up my cure
And let aromas lead it to my mouth;
At last I taste the velvet pure
Like summer nights down in the South.
As my body echoes deep,
I feel the chills run up and down my spine.
I let my senses fall asleep,
And once again, I’m feeling fine.
