Is cigarette smoking still dangerous if you don’t inhale? Jonathan Reitman, MD discusses whether or not inhalation plays a part in developing cancer. While most people know that you can develop cancer from smoking cigarettes, and through direct inhalation, people are less aware of the negative impacts associated with second hand smoke on the body. Second hand smoke definitely takes a toll on your body and can provide for long-term health defects. Also, many people seem to have the impression that smokeless or pipe tobacco are less dangerous than cigarettes because you do not inhale them the same way or chew them, etc…The method of tobacco use does not seem to matter, as all forms of tobacco use, smoked, chewed or otherwise increase your chances of developing oral related cancer disease.
