Information On Substance Abuse: “A Coalitions Journey to Fight the Prescription Drug Epidemic in Southwest Virginia” : Trailer



Appalachian Substance Abuse Coalition’s documentary trailer on the prescription drug epidemic in Southwest Virginia. ASAC began in 2001 as a community response to the hundreds of prescription drug deaths that led to family destruction, economic decline, higher than state average crime rates and many other social problems. Watch their pioneering strategies in the ares of substance abuse prevention, treatment and recovery which have led to significant reductions in the associated death rates. The final free documentary will be available and posted in August 2011. ASAC serves the Virginia Counties of Buchanan, Dickenson, Lee, Russell, Scott, Tazewell, Washington, Wise & the City of Norton. The project was funded by a grant through the Virginia Office of the Attorney General.
